Living Labs is a global interdisciplinary design and research studio that not only imagines innovative spaces but also develops them. We operate as a single, accountable team from first workshop to delivery, closing the gap between community‑driven design and real‑estate execution.

What we do
Founded in Virginia, we focus on public and commercial places, science and exhibition environments, and context‑responsive urban projects across the United States and the Middle East. Our work targets mid‑scale assignments that can deliver social and economic value while remaining feasible to finance, permit, and build.

How we work
Our process is research‑led and participatory. We use structured engagement toolkits to translate community insight into buildable solutions, and we integrate delivery planning early — feasibility, approvals, and implementation — so projects move efficiently from concept to completion. Our technical stack and project controls support that end‑to‑end path.

A joint venture with GOA
We operate through a joint venture with GOA (Ghayyoor Obaid Architects), one of Pakistan’s pioneering practices known for climate responsiveness, craftsmanship, and spatial clarity. Led today by Khurram Ghayyor Syed and Faraz Ghayyoor Syed, GOA expands the partnership’s reach and depth, carrying forward the vision first established by Ghayyoor Obaid while extending it to new regions and programs.
