A sensor guided museum installation that brings agricultural futures and soil health to life.

AgroPod is a permanent multimedia installation for the Science Museum of Western Virginia. Supported by USDA funding and scheduled for completion in June 2026, the work invites visitors to explore Agricultural Futures through animated, data rich storytelling. Ecologists, sociologists, and animators contributed to ensure the experience is scientifically grounded, culturally resonant, and accessible to a broad public.

An immersive, sensor‑driven environment where architecture and media perform together.

Motion and hand gesture inputs let visitors, especially children, navigate programmable audio visual worlds that simulate relationships among atmosphere, water, soil, and farming decisions. Spatial cues draw on precedents from forced perspective and threshold architecture, with a baroque play of depth, clerestory like light, and a central oculus seed focal point. Tactile materials and layered projections join didactic clarity with open ended aesthetic delight.
