Climate aware courtyard house for gathering, crafted with GOA’s clarity and care.
Set on a 3 kanal plot in Green Acres off Raiwind Road, this 5,500 square‑foot residence reflects GOA’s evolving thinking on structure, climate, and memory. First imagined in the mid 2000s as a guest house for visitors and cultural delegates from India, the home retains its founding idea of gathering people across space and time, expressed through a calm, landscape led plan.
The layout resists rigid program. Large rooms open to courts, shaded verandas, and semi covered terraces that temper heat, draw breeze, and bring planting into daily life. Clear structural spans and tactile materials support flexible use, while light wells and framed views reinforce a biophilic sensibility. As a contemporary work by our partner GOA, the house continues the studio’s legacy of climate responsiveness, craftsmanship, and spatial clarity, creating a setting that is generous for guests and composed for everyday living.
