GOA's climate smart courtyard home for multi generational living; private yet connected.
A contemporary expression of GOA’s ethos, this residence shows how thoughtful design can keep a multi generational family close while preserving privacy. Courtyards, light wells, and climate responsive planning organize daily life, allowing the home to adapt gracefully over time while maintaining a calm, coherent architectural language.
Conceived as a long term family home, each level functions as an independent dwelling within one envelope.
The basement accommodates the eldest son’s household, the ground floor is dedicated to the parents, and the first floor serves the youngest son. Outdoor voids extend upward as semi covered terraces, shaded verandas, linear courts, and planted recesses that temper heat and bring greenery into everyday routines. The result is a flexible framework that balances seclusion and connection, reflecting GOA’s craft, spatial clarity, and sensitivity to light and climate as carried forward by the studio’s current leadership.
